Robert Howe QC and Shaheed Fatima, acting for Apex Global Management Limited successfully resisted two appeals brought by Prince Mishal and his son, Prince Abdulaziz. The Court of Appeal rejected the Princes' claim that they were entitled to sovereign immunity under the State Immunity Act 1978; the Princes had claimed that they were members of the family of King Abdullah "forming part of his household". The Court of Appeal also rejected the Princes' privacy appeal. Although the Court of Appeal gave its decision in both appeals, the reasoned judgments have been reserved. The first instance judgments were given by Vos J regarding the immunity appeal ([2013] EWHC 587 (Ch)) and Morgan J regarding the privacy appeal ([2013] EWHC 223 (Ch)).

Robert Howe QC and Shaheed Fatima acted for Apex Global Management, instructed by Steven Morris (HowardKennedyFsi).
